How it works
Active 2025–26 players age 27 or younger with at least 500 minutes, a non-negative observed recent trend (rookies are neutral), and a positive analog-projected three-season gain.

Each player is compared with 80 nearby historical player-seasons using age, experience, current impact, recent trend, minutes and position group.
The model looks at the best Impact estimate each analog reached over the next three seasons, then weights nearer comparisons more heavily.
68% projected-peak percentile + 27% projected-gain percentile + 5% current-impact percentile, adjusted modestly for minutes played. It is designed to balance ceiling with development runway rather than reward youth alone.
The ranking is descriptive and exploratory, not a calibrated probability forecast. Injuries, role changes, roster context and unusual development paths can move a career far outside its historical analogs.
